Sunday Potluck in DaAn Park: A Fine Tradition

Always a great mix of locals and expats, this is a scene from February's Taipei Potluck and Music Circle.

Tomorrow, you can spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon among old and new friends and musicians at the 30th Taipei Potluck.

For almost three years now, on the first Sunday of every month in DaAn Park (3 to 8+pm) the Taipei Potluck & Music Circle (大安公園共享音樂餐會) has gathered for vegetarian potlucks and music/drum circles.

Says organizer Brian Funshine, “Bring your kind food, your good vibes, your instruments (guitars, hand drums, shakers, etc), frisbee, hacky sack, juggling equipment, picnic blanket, beverages, utensils, and most of all… friends and family.”

“We’ll be inviting some amazing — and beginner — jugglers, Poi Artists, Diablo Masters, belly dancers, musicians, drummers, Hula queens, and a whole array of interesting people for you to meet and get to know (in English and Chinese!)” Brian added. Even if you don’t speak English, “Please do come! Most of us are bilingual anyway.
We’ve had people from all over the world visit with us.”

“Or maybe you have something new and interesting to share! Bring it on. Kids are welcome too, by the way….We love kids!”

Closest MRT stations are Da An, or Technology Building MRT stations on the Brown Line. Then it’s a 10-minute walk to the park from either one. Walk north from the Heping/Jianguo Road corner, at the edge of the park, to the second pavillion. Follow the sound of music!
