Traditionally the home of the Dulguburra-Yidinji people, the lush natural rainforests and clear water streams around Yungaburra provide an abundance of natural wonders that has transformed the peaceful mountain village into a popular haven for visitors from around the world.

Nearby are the pristine natural crater lakes - Lake Barrine and Lake Eacham and the 30 000 hectare man-made Lake Tinaroo.

Platypus may be viewed from a constructed viewing platform right on the edge of town or by taking one of the popular wildlife cruises available on Lake Tinaroo. Walking trails along Peterson Creek, including the Allumbah Pocket revegetation project are perfect birdwatching and wildlife spotting venues.

Yungaburra has a wide variety of quality accommo

dation including a backpacker lodge, motel and self contained cottages. There are many bed and breakfast, homestay and farm stay options and the restaurants are some of the best on the Tropical Tablelands. Art Galleries offer a wide variety of arts and crafts featuring rainforest timbercraft and quality hand made articles.
