Response to NY Post opinion: "Who Needs Vigilance?"

The most abhorrent thing about this article is Nimrodsky is justifying with shaky logic and inflammatory rhetoric a crackdown on all things Arabic or Muslim, a radicalization of the Arabic language itself —

The New York Post published a characteristically bigoted, right-wing opinion piece Friday, May 2, “Who Needs Vigilance?” regarding Brooklyn’s Khalil Gibran International Academy and Debbie Almontaser. Almontaser was forced to step down in August 2007 as the founding principal of the Khalil Gibran School, New York City’s first public school dedicated to the study of Arabic language and culture.
Neocon hack columnist Adam Brodsky claims the school had “dubious ties,” such as “groups like the Council on American-Islamic Relations, an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land terror-funding case with links to Hamas.”
In an exclusive interview with Democracy Now!, Almontaser says there is no basis for this accusation, and that indeed, the school received funding from pretty UNDUBIOUS sources such as the New York Department of Education, and New Visions for Public Schools.
Nimrodsky also attacks the motivation for the institution with a clumsy analogy: If Americans had flattened Saudi Arabia’s tallest building, the idea of the Kingdom “opening a public school to promote US-Arab understanding would occur to no one.”
First of all, this is not the ultra-conservative country of Saudi Arabia, and second, the “Arab Islamists” Nimrod cites as murderers in the WTC were not the ones responsible at all — he obviously forgot how a majority of New Yorkers are in the know — the 911 massacre was an inside job of the Bush administration — at least the Bushies knew, but it was their Pearl Harbor. But actually, whether or not anyone agrees with this is irrelevant — the Administration has done everything it could to destroy all evidence connected with 911 so we will probably never know what happened that day.
The most abhorrent thing about this article is Nimrodsky is justifying with shaky logic and inflammatory rhetoric a crackdown on all things Arabic or Muslim, a radicalization of the Arabic language itself — he actually says “More Americans need to speak Arabic — not just to bridge cultural gaps, but to spy on the enemy and expose his plots.” Yeah, like we need more surveillance!
This is the kind of disgusting excuse for debate on critical issues that we can expect from most news media sources in America.
Close down the TV! Move!
