Fer SHOW! Brushing elbows with literary genius @’The Writ VI’

No cover charge if you get to the 'Fuge by 7:45pm!!!!
The Wild East / Beaux Arts

The Writ VI is here, it’s coming this Saturday, and it’s gonna be amazing, man, you gotta check this out, especially if you’re a writer, beat poet (such as myself), musician, comedian what-have-you, or ESPECIALLY just a good listener and appreciator of the arts, because it’s all there, man, ALL THERE, Saturday night at the Taichung Refuge, at that former dongshan amusement park with hotsprings, which if you haven’t seen it yet you’re really missing out, ’cause this is gonna be pretty fricken special, well it always is, but man, you gotta just catch these vibes, it’s the best deal in quality, creative evening entertainment around, swear to God, it rocks, like in my case I like to roll in about 8pm, already a bit liquored up from the journey and get loose and get onstage, and there’s some real fricken talent in this islet – all the Davids and me, and… well you can just check out the lineup below, but in the past Boston Paul put a wig on and he speaks with a lisp and talks about how the Internet and social networking have forever altered the notion of ‘friends’… I really enjoyed that one, or when Hanz got his freestyle groove on I was laughing my ass off, well not literally but nearly shat myself, you know what that’s all about, and i met this really cute Taiwanese there but that didn’t work out at all and hope that one doesn’t come out that night, but all the other ones are cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ll try another Taiwanese fer shoW!!!!!!!

THE ACTIVITIES/SPECIAL EVENTS:

WRITers come from everywhere and are found in every genre…

Something starts with an Idea, is WRITten down and then made into something: sometimes it is a few pages of poetry, sometimes it finds its way as Lyrics that becomes a song, some the Words we write eventually become a Book and other times our words become a movie or short film.

At The Writ V, Raven debuted is short film: THE FINAL DRAFT and it was such a good idea we have decided to include some form of this medium at every Writ.

If you are a film maker or want to try – let’s try ot get you into The Writ VII (should be in September!)

This Writ VI we will also be featuring another Author named Vinnie Stoia who has recently published a novel called ‘Jin Village’

Here’s a link to one of the many good reviews of his book:

DETAILS & BITS:

READING TIPS – Stage Presence! If you have never done something like this, it is not like reading to your cat in the easy chair.

Your Voice, Body Language, Hand Gestures and Looking at The Audience all help to convey what you want The Listeners to hear & understand. Practicing in front of a mirror or a small group of friends does help. Reading your bits out loud (in the shower, in the car at a stop light, whilst making love… ooo maybe not, but you get the gist) will do wonders for your performance.

*This is Rain or Shine! The Refuge is HUGE and we have plenty of room.

*Lots of Parking. Carpool to save gas.

Peace and Much Love!

GETTING TO THE REFUGE:

*ADDRESS: The Refuge in Dakeng DongShan Paradise 東山樂園! 台中市北屯區東山路二段151之2號 東山樂園 Taichung Taiwan

*DIRECTIONS:

This is VERY easy!

From Taichung: Zhong Gang Road… get on to Wenxin (or Wenshin) Road and go NORTH.

you stay on this road the WHOLE WAY.

Wen Xin (OR WENSHIN) Road turns into DONGSHAN Road or Route 129!

Cross over BEITUN (sometimes spelled PEITUN). Though this Road changeS its name from Wenxin to Dongshan – IT IS THE SAME ROAD!

Stay on DONGSHAN until you get to the DAKENG TRAFFIC CIRCLE (If there wasn’t a Temple in the middle, go straight ahead!)

Go around the Traffic Circle and continue NORTH on 129 (Dongshan Road) (you’re almost there 5 more minutes!)

DongShan Paradise is on THE RIGHT SIDE ON DONG SHAN ROAD.

It looks a bit like a castle. We are the serfs in the back of the castle hidden snug away!

Look for a Big Yellow Home-made REFUGE Sign then LOOK FOR Yellow SIGNS AND FOLLOW THEM… to the Parking lot.
